OUR FAMILY’S STORY
Our customers gave us our name.
Best Box Lunches began in 2006, when Jim and Maria McCormac turned their family deli’s growing office catering business into a service dedicated entirely to boxed lunches.
The name came directly from their customers. Again and again, reviews and comments included the same compliment: “You have the best box lunches.” Jim and Maria decided there was no better name for the business.
Twenty years later, Best Box Lunches is still family-owned and focused on the same things that built the business from the beginning: fresh food, accurate orders, dependable delivery, and making lunch a little easier for St. Louis businesses.
MEET DAN MCCORMAC
St. Louis born.
Food has always been his passion.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Dan has always had a passion for working with food. He worked nights at his parents’ deli while attending culinary school at Forest Park Community College and has been part of Best Box Lunches since the beginning.
As owner, Dan oversees daily operations at Best Box Lunches. For him, one detail is essential: being on time. When customers plan a meeting around lunch, they need to know it will arrive when expected.
After years working alongside his parents, Dan took over ownership in 2024. He continues the family’s commitment to food and service customers can count on.

Dan’s go-to is our family-recipe chicken salad on a croissant, paired with kettle chips and a chocolate chip pecan wedge.
It’s the crunch of the kettle chips alongside the sweet and savory flavor of the chicken salad that keeps him coming back.
